Over a century ago, Ermenegildo Zegna founded his Wool Mill in the town of Trivero in the Italian Alps. His dream to create the world’s most beautiful fabrics went hand in hand with a pioneering vision to make his hometown and the world around it a better place for future generations.

Under the stewardship of the Zegna family’s fourth generation, ZEGNA has grown into the world’s leading luxury menswear brand. It continues to be renowned for impeccable Italian craftsmanship, material expertise and a pioneering approach to creating in harmony with the natural world.

1910 - 1940

From our origin in the Alps of northern Italy to the birth of Oasi Zegna, the early 20th century saw our Founder’s dream to create a better world take shape. This ethos has remained at the heart of ZEGNA for over a century.

1940 - 2000

The second half of the 1900s saw ZEGNA build on its reputation as a world-leading name in the production of fine fabrics. This era of firsts - which included the introduction of our legendary Made to Measure service - saw the beginnings of our global luxury menswear brand emerge.

2000 - TODAY

Our Road to Tomorrow began with ZEGNA becoming floated on the New York Stock Exchange and the signing of the Fashion Pact. A sartorial reset by Alessandro Sartori and contemporary rebrand inspired by our iconic 232 Road have become pivotal to our vision for the future. The Born in Oasi Zegna Book recalls over 110 years of ZEGNA’s unprecedented history through a curated series of stunning imagery and inspiring anecdotes.

Our Road to Tomorrow remains guided by the dream of our Founder, who believed that industry, communities and nature could thrive in harmony. Our commitment to his vision is captured in Oasi Cashmere and Oasi Lino – key milestones on Our Road to Traceability. We commit to certifying their fibres as 100% traceable from 2024.
